Also known as renal replacement therapy, dialysis is a treatment procedure in which machines are used to filter and purify solutes, excess water, and toxins from the blood. Patients whose kidneys are unable to do the job of filtering the blood are the ones who need to go for kidney dialysis. As a result of this, bodily fluids start accumulating in the body to such a critical level that it may result in several health issues.

Kidney dialysis is a temporary treatment for patients with acute kidney injury or those who have recently undergone transplantation. It can be a permanent measure for those who cannot go for a transplant. There are various reasons for the kidney to stop working the way it should including high blood pressure, diabetes, etc.
