Hospital medicine is a sub-branch of internal medicine that focuses on providing care to hospitalized patients. During the entire inpatient stay, hospitalists are the ones who will be available 24*7 to assist. They work together with primary care physician and other healthcare professionals to plan and manage the complete health plan of a patient during their hospital stay. From arranging your medical tests, studying the reports and preparing treatment chart accordingly to informing the patient’s family about health condition and improvements, hospitalists does it all. Hospitalists need to complete medical school and residency program and specialize in internal medicine to be able to practice in the field.
