The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) is a non-profit, independent and private organization. The NCQA works towards improving the quality of health in the United States. A Board of Directors including health plans, consumers, quality experts, employees, regulators, labor representatives from organized medicine governs the committee. The committee works in three steps: measuring the care service, analyzing it, and working to improve it.
