An electrically charged medical device placed in the chest of patients whose heartbeats at an abnormal rhythm. It uses electrical pulses to standardize the heartbeat rate, helping the patient lead a normal life.

There are different types of the pacemaker which are:

Single Chamber Pacemakers – with one battery powered electronic circuit
Dual Chamber Pacemakers – with two electrode leads
Biventricular Pacemakers – with three leads
