In the US health insurance market, a preferred provider organization (PPO) refers to a care organization of hospitals, physicians, nurses and other medical service providers who partner with the insurance companies and agrees to provide care services and facilities at reduced rates to the clients of the insurer. And in doing so, PPOs charge access fees from the insurance provider for giving them access to their network of medical specialists and facility centers. It is a subscription-based care arrangement system.
