Sterilization is a medical process that helps kill, deactivate, and eliminate any kind of biological agents or life forms such as virus, fungi, bacteria, prions, etc. from a particular region which can be an instrument, human body, surface, fluid, compound, or medication. It is similar to the process of disinfection, pasteurization, and sanitization all of which intend to kill germs and prevent spread of infection. One can sterilize a region using high pressure, heat, filtration, and chemicals depending on the availability and the subject to be sterilized.
