Therapeutic devices are segmented into two categories. Firstly those that assist patients in doing their daily activities and secondly those that are used by medical professionals to deliver therapeutic services to patients. Patients use assisted devices like visual aids, walkers, hearing aids, etc. to perform their daily tasks such as walking, hearing, and others, which they otherwise cannot do because of their physical disability or limitations.

For people with hearing or visual impairments, therapeutic devices prove helpful by enhancing their abilities to seamlessly perform regular activities such as reading, watching television, and striking a conversation. Depending on the type of disability or impairment, therapeutic devices are of different types. Moreover, in the case of walking disabilities, devices such as canes, wheelchairs, and crutches do the job. In a hospital setting, masks, oxygen tanks, and other devices are commonly used while delivering respiratory therapy.
