A medical professional capturing the images of various internal organs using medical equipment to help physicians in diagnosing purpose is known as an x-ray technician. As a specialist in the field, technicians ensure proper safety measures are taken while working with radiation during x-ray imaging. While it is the technician who takes x-ray images of the body part, the image then goes to radiologists who interprets the report to help the patient and the family understand the medical condition. X-ray technicians are also termed as radiologic technicians

Individuals who want to become x-ray technicians must have an associate degree in radiology and also should have a state license to practice after undertaking accredited training and passing the certification examination. Candidates can also earn their voluntary certificate from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
